| The
owner of The Wired Web and The
Last Best West is Longfellow Deeds. The "voice"
you hear when you read any copy we've authored is mine. I'm also the
chief Web Designer, Graphic Artist, and a Search Engine Optimization
Expert. I reckon you could say I'm an original "techcowboy"
and the first Silver
Spur Gunfighter. More
about Longfellow and the Old West
When
I started The Wired Web in 2000 I had no idea that this would be
the name of my design and technology company. I'd
just finished the seventh (that's right - 7) re-write of my adventure
novel
set in the Old West - The
Last Best West, and wanted a web site to promote it.
The Last Best West.com debuted later that year as a modest nine
page web site and in the following seven years saw it take on a
life of it's own, until today it's one of the premier western theme
web sites on the Internet.
But
that's not important right now - this story's about The Wired Web.
Career
Genesis
After more than fifteen years as an Expert Retail Leader (with stops
at Dylex Ltd., Anthony's Clothiers, Mariposa Group of Stores and
Peoples Jewelers) - it was time for a change. Sandwiched in there
were stints surveying on Seismic Crews, and four years in the Operations
Department of Explosives Limited after returning from a travel year
in Australia.
Explosives
Limited taught me Crisis Management; how to get the job done and
to never make excuses. That's pretty much a definition for Project
Management - and in essence it means, "getting the job done."
And that's what we take pride in delivering to our clients.
The
Startup
My goal ever since completing (2000) my post-graduate education
at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology was to apply my
award winning customer service techniques to a design and technology
company. After completing a fast track Entrepreneurial course through
Myers Norris-Penny, I was ready to get going and the name I chose
(after a fair deal of deliberation - starts and stops and the such)
was The Wired Web.
Put
on a Happy Face
One of the things that struck me when I first began studying web
design was how impersonal most of the business web sites were. They
were little more than a brochure with institutional type writing.
I felt there was a real need to humanize the web - let potential
customers and visitors get a sense of the culture of the company
- and we've been striving to do so with our designs ever since.
Design Dynamics
When
you hire The Wired Web - you are contracting the services of Longfellow.
Other Technology Talent is brought on board depending on the service
needed. You
pay for the service you require, without sacrificing big league
service or results.

you call the office and get voice mail - it's Sonja's voice you
hear. She also handles most of our e-mail inquiries and is a Network
Administrator and an expert in document recovery and authoring.
